Local Brew and Comfort Food Festival Marks Santa Fe Winter Fiesta, Feb. 3

SantaFe.com, City of Santa Fe and the New Mexico Brewers Guild announce WinterBrew ? a craft brew and comfort food festival, taking place at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at the Santa Fe Farmers Market Pavilion. The event features popular and award-winning beer from many of New Mexico's fast-growing local breweries, including Santa Fe Brewing Company, Second Street Brewery, Marble Brewery, Blue Corn Caf? & Brewery, Chama River Brewing Company, Tractor Brewing Company, Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza & Brewery, Turtle Mountain Brewing Company, La Cumbre Brewing Company, Nexus Brewery, Sierra Blanca Brewing Company, Rio Grande Brewing Company and Monks' Ale. "


The festival also features comfort food spreads from more than a dozen local food vendors and restaurants like Whoo?s Donuts, Slurp and Rio Chama, with menu items including creative twists on meatloaf, chicken pot pies, donuts and New Mexican cuisine. Following the Pavilion event, which ends at 9 p.m., both Second Street Brewery at the Santa Fe Railyard and the Coyote Den at Coyote Cafe will host after parties.


The New Mexico Brewers Guild and SantaFe.com reminds participants to designate a driver or to take advantage of the New Mexico Rail Runner train while commuting to and from WinterBrew.


Now in its second year, the Santa Fe Winter Fiesta is a 10-day celebration of music, food, film and community that begins Jan. 27 and runs through Feb. 5. The event is put on by SantaFe.com and the City of Santa Fe and also features a craft brew festival, a comedy show and a film screening. Tickets to Santa Fe Winter Fiesta Winterbrew Craft Brew and Comfort Food Festival are $ 15. The 2012 Santa Fe Winter Fiesta now offers an event pass called the 2012 Winter Fiesta Adventure Pass, available for $ 10. Pass holders receive discounts to all Santa Fe Winter Fiesta Events. Winter Fiesta Adventure Pass holders receive $ 5 off the $ 15 ticket price to the Winterbrew Craft Brew and Comfort Food Festival. Pass holders can take advantage of discounts to all Santa Winter Fiesta events.


Co-Sponsors for the 2012 Winter Fiesta are the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Heineken, The Agave Lounge at the Eldorado Hotel, and Chalmers Capitol Ford Lincoln Mercury. The event is brought in part by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation and by Sierra Santa Fe Buick GMC.
